The SSC CPO examination, commonly known as the SSC Sub Inspector (SI) exam, is organized to appoint Sub Inspectors in the Delhi Police, as well as in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASI) in the Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF). This recruitment process falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Home Affairs for the Government of India.The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is set to unveil the SSC CPO Notification 2024 through its official website, ssc.nic.in. The notification, presented in PDF format, will encompass crucial information pertaining to the SSC CPO exam. Eligible candidates meeting the minimum criteria can complete the SSC CPO application process by the specified deadline. SSC CPO 2024 Selection Procedure

The selection process for SSC CPO 2024 involves four stages designed to identify qualified candidates for various positions in Delhi Police, CAPFs, CISFs, etc. These stages are outlined as follows:

Stage-I

The initial stage encompasses Paper 1 of the SSC CPO exam, consisting of multiple-choice questions totaling 200 marks.

Stage-II

The second stage involves the Physical Endurance Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), and a Medical test. Candidates must meet the specified physical and medical eligibility criteria set by the authority to successfully navigate this stage. The PET/PST evaluates the candidates’ physical and clinical capabilities.

Stage-III

The concluding stage requires candidates to clear Paper 2, which focuses on the English language and comprehension. This section carries a total of 200 marks.

SSC CPO 2024 Exam Pattern

The SSC CPO 2024 examination follows a three-stage pattern, which includes Paper 1, PET/PST, and Paper 2. Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 are written exams conducted in an online format. The exam pattern for Papers 1 and 2 is outlined as follows:

1. Paper 1:

  •    Nature of Exam: Written examination conducted online.
  •    Question Type: Multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
  •    Total Marks: Paper 1 is for a total of 200 marks.
  •    Subjects Covered: The content may include topics such as General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.

2. Physical Endurance Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST):

  •  Nature of Exam: Physical efficiency and medical tests to assess the physical and medical fitness of candidates.
  • Criteria: Candidates need to fulfill specific physical standards and medical requirements as per the guidelines set by the examining authority.

3. Paper 2:

  •    Nature of Exam: Written examination conducted online.
  •    Question Type: Descriptive paper.
  •    Total Marks: Paper 2 is for a total of 200 marks.
  •    Subject: This paper focuses on English language and comprehension skills.

Candidates are required to successfully clear each stage to progress to the next level of the SSC CPO 2024 selection process.

Paper I Exam Pattern:

    • The exam will be conducted in online mode (CBT – Computer Based Test).

    • Questions will be of objective type.

    • Paper 1 consists of four sections – General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.

    • For every incorrect answer, a negative marking of 0.25 will be applied.

    • Paper 1 includes a total of 200 questions, each carrying one mark, summing up to 200 marks.

    • The duration of the Paper I exam is 2 hours.

Paper II Exam Pattern:

    • Paper II focuses on English Language & Comprehension and comprises 200 questions, totaling 200 marks.

    • The exam duration for Paper II is 2 hours.

    • Similar to Paper 1, there is a negative marking of 0.25 for every incorrect response.

    • Questions in Paper II will be of objective type.

SSC CPO 2024 Paper – 2 Syllabus

English Language and Comprehension:

The elements of this section aim to assess the candidate’s grasp and proficiency in the English language. The questions will focus on error recognition, filling in the blanks (utilizing verbs, prepositions, articles, etc.), vocabulary, spellings, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, sentence completion, and the idiomatic use of words.

SSC CPO 2024 Physical Endurance Test

The Physical Endurance Test, abbreviated as PET, assesses the candidate’s physical strength and capabilities. To qualify for this test, candidates must demonstrate physical fitness. The PET is applicable to both male and female candidates, and the criteria for the test are as follows –

Physical Endurance Test (PET) Requirements for Male Candidates:

  • Completion of a 100-meter race within 16 seconds.
  • Completion of a 1.6 Km race within 6.5 minutes.
  • Long Jump requirement: Covering a distance of 3.65 meters in 5 attempts.
  • High Jump: Clearing a height of 1.2 meters in 3 attempts.
  • Short Put 16 LBS: Throwing a distance of 4.5 meters in 3 attempts.

Physical Endurance Test (PET) Requirements for Female Candidates:

  • Completion of a 100-meter race within 18 seconds.
  • Completion of an 800-meter race within 4 minutes.
  • Long Jump requirement: Covering a distance of 2.7 meters or 9 feet in 3 attempts.
  • High Jump: Clearing a height of 0.9 meters or 3 feet in 3 attempts.

SSC CPO 2024 Medical Test

In SSC CPO, emphasis is placed on both academic excellence and health, seeking candidates who are not only intelligent but also physically and medically sound. The medical examination is conducted by a Medical Officer from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) or any qualified Medical Officer/Assistant Surgeon. Both male and female candidates must meet the stipulated medical requirements to successfully clear the test. In the event of a candidate being deemed unfit, there is an option to appeal to the medical board within 15 days. The criteria for the medical test are outlined as follows:

  • Minimum Near Vision: N6 (better eye) and N9 (worse eye).
  • Minimum Distant Vision: 6/6 (better eye) and 6/9 (worse eye).
  • Absence of knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins, or squint in the eyes.
  • Eye standards should meet the specified criteria without the use of visual correction, including glasses.
